Easter Is God’s Grace in Action

John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
Many of us are familiar with John 3:16. It is an incredible verse that speaks of the inconceivable love God has for us.
“That he gave” means God chose.
“his one and only Son” means that he had only one Son and again God chose his ONLY Son.
“that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life” so that if we BELIEVE that Jesus Christ paid the ultimate price for our sins, we shall not DIE but have ETERNAL LIFE.
God CHOSE to GIVE his one and ONLY Son, that WHOEVER BELIEVES in HIM shall not perish but have ETERNAL LIFE. It takes my breath away.
Romans 5:6-8 You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this; While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
This beautiful verse is another example of God’s love for us exactly where we are.
“You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless.” God WANTS us while we’re still IN our sin. I don’t think that there is a more humbling thought than to be truly WANTED at our worst, or at least far from our best.
“Christ died for the ungodly.” We tend to want to be cleaned up and have a few things “under control” before we are ready to show up in church or “follow” God. GOD WANTS US RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW, AND ALWAYS. Brings me to tears quite honestly to be loved in such a capacity. He doesn’t want your best foot forward in your Sunday best with all the right words, he simply wants YOU.
The Creator of the entire Universe wants you, cares about you, and loves you unconditionally. This is a picture of why God did what he did on Calvary. Why he gave his one and only Son for each and every one of us to choose him and eternal life. God loved us so much that he crafted a way to save us from what we deserved.
Fuzzy bunnies, chocolate, and Easter Lillie’s are some of my favorite things, but I hope the celebration of Easter is more than this for all of us. I pray it is a reminder and celebration of God’s love for us, the sacrifice, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. God loves us so very much. If you don’t have a relationship with God, I hope that you will contact me so that I can answer any questions you might have and share the true gospel with you. God Bless & Happy Easter!
Ephesians 2:1-10 As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our flesh and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature deserving of wrath. But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Love this Valerie. It’s so humbling to know God loves us even when we are at our worst. A loving parent who wants so much to wrap His Loving arms around us, wipe away all the guilt and shame and gently guide us Down a better path. Wow. Thank you for this great reminder.
